Puff Wheat Squares
½ cup butter or margarine
½ cup corn syrup
1 cup brown sugar
¼ cup pecans, sliced (optional)
1 oz. bittersweet chocolate
2 tsp vanilla
8 cups puffed wheat
sprinkle of cinnamon
Combine first 5 ingredients in large pot and bring to a boil. Reduce
heat to medium and boil gently for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat and add vanilla, stir. Stir in puffed wheat until
well coated. Place in 9-13 inch baking dish or container. Press
down flat using wax paper. Remove wax paper and sprinkle a bit
of cinnamon. Cover with plastic wrap or lid and let sit 1 or 2 hours
before serving.
